Senior Buyer (Indirects)

JSS have partnered with a leading brand based in the West Midlands area to recruit a Senior Buyer position focusing on Indirect spend.

After a period of transformation, this role will sit within a newly-positioned, central procurement function and will business partner with the directorate across corporate functions as well as managing wider indirect spend projects.

The role:

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for generalist indirect procurement categories including FM, Logistics, Fleet etc.
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends, pricing, and potential suppliers, ensuring competitive advantage.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and risk management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
• Monitor supplier performance, manage relationships, and resolve any issues to ensure service excellence.
• Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, savings achieved, and market insights to senior management.
• Support the Head of Indirect Procurement on deployment of strategies for the business
• Ensure effective implementation and compliance with new procurement processes, including systems such as Coupa

Your profile:

• Proven experience in a similar procurement role
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and market research.
• Relevant procurement qualifications (e.g., CIPS) are advantageous.
