About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Functional Skills Teacher to join our team at a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) school in Nottingham. This full-time position involves working with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as well as exhibiting challenging behaviour.
You will deliver engaging and tailored lessons in functional skills, helping students develop essential literacy, numeracy, and life skills. Your role will be instrumental in supporting their growth and preparing them for the next stage of their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality Functional Skills lessons.
Support students with SEND needs and manage challenging behaviours effectively.
Develop and adapt resources to meet individual learning needs.
Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student progress.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Proven experience teaching Functional Skills, particularly within a SEND or PRU setting.
Excellent behaviour management skills and a compassionate approach.
Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
