Job Description
Senior Civil/Structural Design Engineer – LEEDS (Hybrid)
£50,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience) basic, bonus (5-10%), Car allowance and benefits
Client, Job Role, and expectations
My client is a civil, structural, and mechanical engineering consultancy, providing design and checking services across all built environment sectors and industries. They pride themselves in their ability to interpret client briefs and provide innovative, practical, cost effective and safe contractor focused design solutions on time and on budget.
Key Accountabilities include:
• A senior engineer is responsible for undertaking civil, structural and mechanical design / checking & method development tasks from client briefs with minimal supervision.
• They use their knowledge, skills and experience to identify and implement practical, cost effective and safe solutions with due diligence, skill and care in accordance with statutory legislation, the suite of Eurocodes and other approved industry body guidance and established best practice.
• A senior engineer is expected to function as a semi-autonomous team member with the potential for full delegated responsibility for project and/or task delivery.
• They plan & execute both tasks and projects to ensure successful delivery in terms of quality, cost and time.
Experience/Qualifications
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a civil/structural engineering role
• Professional qualification, Chartered/Incorporated with ICE/IStructE, or near to.
• Strong design experience in a range of projects and structures
• Proven experience of assisting or delivering projects to time and budget.
• Experience of assisting projects and teams with the associated financial management.
• Experience undertaking and checking designs and calculations.
• Effective communication skills in a client facing role.
• Experience of Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Experience of multi-disciplinary design coordination and integration.
• Working knowledge of a structural analysis software such as Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer (2D/3D frame), S-frame 3D, Robot, SuperStress, MIDAS, LUSAS etc.
• Proficient use of MS office-based software is essential.
• Working knowledge of relevant CDM regulations
Package / Remuneration:
The remuneration package offered at this stage is subject to the experience of the candidate, but will likely include the following:
Basic Salary: Between £50,000 - £60,000
