Role Overview
The focus will be on managing the commercial elements of a long-term contract. This role is an exciting opportunity to implement robust commercial practices and challenge conventional methods while collaborating with team members to elevate commercial management standards.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Support: Provide essential commercial assistance to the project team, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and maintained.
Financial Oversight: Monitor and report on financial performance for assigned contracts, preparing accurate financial statements as needed. You will also be responsible for understanding financial processes, including cost-to-complete assessments and forecasting.
Contract Administration: Administer contract requirements effectively, including managing any variations that may arise.
Subcontractor Management: Oversee the appointment and management of subcontractors, including handling payment applications and final accounts.
Client Liaison: Work closely with client representatives and third parties to address daily commercial matters related to contract delivery.
Compliance and Improvement: Ensure adherence to internal systems and processes while actively seeking opportunities for improvement.
Timely Invoicing: Ensure prompt submission of invoices and payment applications to clients.
Business Development Support: Assist in creating materials for pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tenders.
Team Development: Mentor and guide the Commercial and Operations Team through training initiatives to enhance their skills.
Staff Management: Supervise Commercial Staff regarding performance evaluations, timekeeping, technical training, development, and resource allocation.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience with CBR (Cost-Benefit Ratio) preparations.
Familiarity with NEC (New Engineering Contract) and CEMAR (Contract Event Management and Reporting).
A background in construction or civil engineering.
