Mechanical Project Manager – Birmingham
Are you a driven and ambitious Mechanical Project Manager looking to make your mark in the industry?
Join a well-established and growing mechanical contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects. With a strong project pipeline, including a new Birmingham-based office, we are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead exciting projects in the Midlands region.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will oversee projects ranging from £500K to £8M, primarily in the residential market, with additional ventures into schools, hotels, medical centres, and other sectors. Projects encompass heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, hot and cold water services, drainage, sprinklers, and gas supplies. This is an excellent opportunity for career growth and progression within the mechanical building services sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage projects, ensuring delivery within financial and project constraints.
Plan projects effectively, prepare short-term programmes, and review main contractor programmes to assess progress or delays.
Manage sub-contractors to deliver on time and within budget.
Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders and installation teams, building and maintaining strong relationships.
Address project issues, risks, and opportunities proactively.
Support with valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Ensure site health and safety standards are met, conducting toolbox talks as needed.
Prepare customer and internal reports. Ideal Candidate Profile:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager, ideally within heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, hot and cold water services, drainage, sprinklers, or gas supplies.
Relevant Mechanical Building Services qualifications.
Demonstrable ability to analyse drawings and specifications.
Strong communication skills and ability to lead effectively.
Self-motivated, methodical, and thorough with a drive for career progression.
SMSTS or SSSTS certification, CSCS accreditation, and First Aid qualifications are preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; CAD experience is a plus but not essential. What We Offer:
Salary: up to £65,000 per year (negotiable based on experience and qualifications).
Additional Benefits: Performance bonus, yearly bonus.
