Are you a passionate History Teacher ready to inspire the next generation of young historians?
Do you have a love for storytelling and a commitment to helping students uncover the events and ideas that have shaped our world? A reputable secondary school in Maidstone is looking for an enthusiastic History Teacher to join their team, fostering a love for the past and critical thinking about the future.
As the school's History Teacher, you’ll be more than a lecturer – you'll be a guide through the fascinating landscapes of history. You’ll introduce students to pivotal moments, influential figures, and critical events, sparking curiosity and encouraging them to question and analyse the world around them.
What You’ll Do:
Engage and Inspire: Craft lessons that bring history to life, using a blend of storytelling, discussion, and interactive activities.
Encourage Debate: Foster a classroom environment where students feel comfortable to question and critically evaluate historical perspectives.
Develop Critical Skills: Equip students with research and analysis skills, preparing them for future academic endeavours and everyday decision-making.
Assess Progress: Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified Educator: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK or an equivalent qualification, with a specialism in History.
Enthusiastic Storyteller: You’re someone who can make history relevant and engaging for all levels.
Critical Thinker: Help students develop analytical skills by fostering debates and discussions in class.
Student-Centric: Understand the unique ways that each student learns, and adapt your teaching methods to cater to different abilities.
Collaborative Team Player: Work well within a team, contributing to the wider school community and culture.
The school provides a supportive and forward-thinking environment where your contributions as a History Teacher will be valued. With excellent resources and a vibrant community, the school places a strong emphasis on both academic achievement and personal growth. Joining this school means becoming part of a team that is dedicated to preparing students for life beyond the classroom.
Please be advised that the History Teacher role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
If you’re ready to inspire and engage young minds as a History Teacher, apply now! This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your teaching career in an enriching environment where history truly comes alive
