Job Description

Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor Senior required for a major offshore wind farm developer based in England.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate amongst the electrical installation and commissioning supervisors to establish a high degree of trust.
  • Proactively establish and maintain good professional relationship with all stakeholders, especially main contractor's staff and workers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate day-to-day collaboration on site between contractors and internal stakeholders, and efficient installation and electrical outfitting, test and commissioning, and offshore commissioning.
  • Ensure quality in relation to workmanship, safety, and OSS outfitting during electrical Installation.
  • Be present in day-to-day planning and supervision, participating in toolbox talks, site coordination meetings, installation work, and test & commissioning activities.
  • Ensure that commissioning within the defined technical area(s) is executed safely in accordance with industry standards and national legislation.
  • Ensure that test and commissioning are properly coordinated and documented, in accordance with processes, using only accepted procedures.
  • Supervise and proactively support that the work is carried out in compliance with the project HSE rules and local legislation.
  • Align with and report to the Electrical Installation and Commissioning Manager. Responsible to follow up on contractors' deliverables within agreed scopes.
  • Support the commissioning manager in review of the outfitting, electrical installation, test, and commissioning schedule. Coordinate site activities and work and collaboration based on the schedule.
  • Perform day-to-day supervision and coordination interfaces between installation and commissioning contractors.
  • Potentially support scope engineers in witnessing of FAT.
  • Carry out supervision and quality assurance during site deliveries, outfitting, and electrical installation of LV, HVAC, HVDC, HVC, protection, SCADA, communication, mechanical, and safety systems.
  • Align with and update back-office scope engineers in relation to progress and quality of work and test.
  • Witness SAT/OSAT. Recording progress, punches, and NCRs. Report progress and findings to the commissioning manager.
  • Coordinate and witness SIT. Facilitate collaboration between contractors. Recording progress, punches, and NCRs. Report progress and findings to the commissioning manager.
  • Ensure that electrical and electromechanical systems are properly and timely maintained after first energisation of each system.
  • Ensure that the necessary safety signs/notices, barriers and other safety measures are implemented on a day-to-day basis during commissioning.
  • Function as Low Voltage Appointed Person with Client Electrical Safety Rules. Both offshore and when required onshore.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with the installation and commissioning of electrical and electromechanical equipment on onshore and/or offshore substations at construction sites, fabrication yards and/or offshore.
  • Low voltage systems experience: Installation and commissioning of low voltage electrical distribution systems, both AC and DC, incl. UPS', generators, and selectivity.
  • Mechanical and automatic safety systems experience: Installation and commissioning of climate control systems, cranes, hoists, and automated fire safety systems.
  • High voltage AC systems experience: Installation and commissioning of high voltage transformers, >66 kV gas insulated switchgear, and high voltage protection systems.
  • High voltage DC systems experience: Installation and commissioning of high voltage transformers and converters, >66 kV gas insulated switchgear, and high voltage protection systems.
  • High voltage cables experience: HV cable support systems, and >66 kV cable pulling, cleating, terminating, connecting, and testing.
  • SCADA & Communication experience: Installation and commissioning of communication networks, station control systems, telecommunication systems, and related cable types like fibre optic, coax, etc.
  • Have a completed degree or vocational training within electrical or marine engineering.
  • Speak, read, and write English at advanced level.
  • Excel at establishing and maintaining good collaboration through acknowledging communication with stakeholders.
  • Valid UK working rights.
  • GWOs.
