Job Description
Job Summary:
The Development Co-ordinator will be responsible for supporting and managing affordable housing projects from inception through to completion. This role requires excellent project management skills, a deep understanding of affordable housing regulations and policies, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including local authorities, contractors, and community groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, development, and execution of affordable housing projects in Ayrshire.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and local authorities to ensure projects meet all regulatory requirements and standards.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant housing policies, codes, and regulations.
- Facilitate community engagement and consultation processes to ensure projects meet the needs of local residents.
- Prepare and submit funding applications and manage grant compliance.
- Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or delays promptly.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and records.
- Provide support and guidance to junior staff and project teams.
Skills and Qualifications:
Understanding of new build residential development, preferably within the affordable sector, and the statutory consents process.
Experience of managing in-house teams and external consultants.
Understanding of design and build contracts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude, and good nature.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Degree in a Built environment discipline or related field.
Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills.
Commitment to learning and development.
A full UK driver’s license and own transport
