Job Summary
Aurora is Novant Health's design system, but it is much more than that. As the Lead FED on Aurora, you will be working with a team of designers and stakeholders to build a framework agnostic component library used by both internal and external delivery teams. Aurora Components are built against Aurora designs so a strong knowledge of working against design specifications is critical.
Optimizely is Novant Health's CMS platform. Components built in this platform utilize React, SASS, MVC and TypeScript. The websites built upon the Optimizely platform also consume components from Aurora. As the lead FED you will be working on various product delivery teams to create remarkable user experiences, define and maintain standards & practices for our UI/UX practice and mentor other FEDs across our teams.
Reports To
You will report to the Manager of Web Technical Services. As such, you will be working with 4 teams that are part of their organization but will also work with all the other delivery teams that contribute to the Novant Health product catalog including external vendors.

Responsibilities
- Introduce, maintain, and advance standard tools and processes that enable repeatable and scalable omni-channel success
- Build and maintain documentation and training to enable designers and developers to effectively use our design system
- Provide technical thought leadership and contribute to next iterations of the design system based on evolving enterprise needs and trends in technology
- Drive the implementation of our visual language in coordination with our design and development leaders
- Work with the design team to improve usability and to ensure high-quality standards and brand consistency. Ultimately your work will have a direct impact on the user experience of our customers
- Build framework agnostic components that can be delivered to products across our product catalogue
- Creating the best possible user experiences across our product catalog
- Working collaboratively and communicating with the Aurora team & partners.
- Building and maintaining web applications
- Working closely with the UI/UX design team as well as the development team
- Build consistent and reliable web experiences
- Have a deep understanding of Modern JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
- Have knowledge of modern UI frameworks React/Vue/Angular/Web Components
- Have knowledge of the entire web development process and possess the ability to implement and execute standard software architecture patterns
- Have a keen eye for detail and are analytical
- Be curious about new technologies and driven to find ways to implement them in your work
- Provide best fits architectural solutions to provide for the business needs
- Responsible for defining and the scope or work
- Contribute to a variety of roles in thought leadership, mentorship, architecture, design, testing, debugging, and documentation
- Ensure deliverables are of the highest quality to promote product owners' satisfaction
- Independently manage tasks

- Either have experience with or willingness to learn Microsoft technology stack.
- 5 + years of experience in development
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

- Understanding of software design patterns and implementations of those patterns in JavaScript.

- Familiar with a CMS and building component systems for them.
