Job Description

Role- Citrix Engineer/Architect

Location-Dallas TX

Mode OF Hire- Contract wX

Duration : Contract XX months

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation:
    • Plan, design, and deploy Citrix environments including XenApp, XenDesktop, Citrix ADC (formerly NetScaler), and Citrix Cloud solutions.
    • Configure and optimize Citrix technologies for both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
  • Management and Maintenance:
    • Monitor and manage the performance, availability, and scalability of Citrix environments.
    • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
    • Troubleshoot Citrix infrastructure issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • User Support:
    • Provide technical support for Citrix users, resolving issues related to virtual desktops, application access, and remote connectivity.
    • Work closely with helpdesk teams to manage escalated user problems.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure Citrix environments adhere to security best practices and corporate security policies.
    • Implement security measures such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), SSL certificates, and access control policies.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work with cross-functional teams including network engineers, systems administrators, and support staff to ensure seamless integration with other systems and services.
    • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement solutions.
  • Documentation:
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation for Citrix systems, including system architecture, processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.


Key Requirements:

  1. Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
    • Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization (CCP-V)
    • Citrix Certified Expert - Virtualization (CCE-V)
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (if applicable to cloud solutions)
    • VMware certifications (if Citrix is integrated with VMware)
  2. Technical Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop (or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops) architecture and deployment.
    • Strong experience with Citrix ADC (NetScaler) for load balancing, application firewall, and remote access.
    • Familiarity with Citrix Cloud solutions and integrating Citrix with cloud providers like Microsoft Azure or AWS.
    • Experience with Windows Server (many versions), Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
    • Knowledge of VDI technologies and remote desktop environments.
    • Understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and WAN optimization.
    • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
  3. Experience:
    • X-X+ years of experience managing Citrix environments in a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
    • Proven experience with application and desktop virtualization in multi-site, high-availability setups.
  4. Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  5. Other Desired Skills:
    • Experience with VMware or other hypervisor platforms.
    • Knowledge of application layering and profile management tools like Citrix App Layering and Citrix User Profile Management (UPM).
    • Familiarity with ITIL processes (for incident, problem, and change management).
