TITLE: Data Specialist
OBJECTIVE: As a Data Specialist at Stars, this staff member plays a pivotal role in supporting our mission of serving low-income communities through Youth and College Programs and mental health initiatives. The position oversees data related to the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), Inventory of Factors Assessing Successful Implementation of Sustainment (IFASIS), Sustainment Measure System Scale (SMSS), and Self-Modification for Assessment of Anti-Racism Tool (SMART) for our mental health grant program. Additional responsibilities include managing all organizational data and maintaining dashboards.
SCOPE: This position reports to the Director of Operations.
CLASSIFICATION: This position is classified as part-time
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data Management and Analysis
- Oversee and manage all organizational data, ensuring integrity, accuracy, and completeness across all platforms and systems
- Develop and maintain dashboards to track key performance indicators, program outcomes, and grant requirements
- Analyze data related to CFIR, IFASIS, SMSS, and SMART tools to assess mental health initiative implementation and sustainability
- Interpret data for grant reporting and organizational evaluation
- Coordinate program data collection across specific service delivery areas
- Collaborate with various departments to present and operationalize data for accessible insights
- Program Oversight and Improvement
- Manage grant programs and ensure compliance with funding source requirements
- Implement PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act) methodology to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Utilize data insights to guide decision-making and adapt strategies to meet evolving community needs and organizational goals
- Assist in developing program policies and procedures
- Ensure timely completion of all required paperwork and documentation
- Coordinate data entry processes across the organization
- Collaboration and Communication
- Interface with schools and other community liaisons
- Collaborate and coordinate with community professionals, service agencies, clients, and families
- Work with marketing and social media teams to:
- Implement data-driven strategies for enhancing online presence and community outreach
- Interpret analytics on various social media platforms
- Reporting and Compliance
- Ensure all documentation requirements are met accurately and on time
- Manage supervisee documentation to meet deadlines and accuracy standards
- Prepare and submit reports for grant requirements and organizational evaluation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must agree with Stars' mission, values, and Christian service covenant.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data coordination and evaluation, preferably in a nonprofit or public health setting.
- Knowledge in statistical analysis software such as R, Python, or SPSS.
- Experience with CRM platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data sets and communicate findings effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with an understanding of anti-racism principles.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the office and on occasion to multiple job sites throughout the day.
- Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred.
- Work at a desk in an office or home-office setting; sit at an office desk for extended periods of time.
- Work for extended periods of time at a computer, requiring the ability to send and receive information with necessary optical, auditory, and manual dexterity.
- Use a keyboard and mouse to enter, retrieve or transfer words or data information and/or move from screen to screen on the computer to view information.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; comprehend and speak English.
- Display the reading skills necessary to proofread written material.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations.
HOURS & COMPENSATION: Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Pay Rate: $26-$29 per hour Depending on experience

WORK LOCATION: Hybrid work remotely or in the Stars Administrative Office. Must be able to work in-person at least 2 days per week.
