The accounts payable accountant will play an integral role in Finance, helping assist day-to-day duties of the accounts payable department, reviewing, and completing payment runs and journal entries; assist with reconciliations; provides weekly payment proposals to treasury so the company can manage its cash position effectively. The AP accountant is well versed in D365 and knowledgeable of banking software setting up electronic vendor payments. Will assist team with invoice issues to help maintain an efficient department. Strong attention to detail is critical, be able to be flexible and open to change.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for making and recording all AP payments, wire, ACH and checks
- Reviews AP aging reports to ensure payments are made timely
- Analyze accounts to ensure payment accuracy
- Coordinates with other corporate and financial management staff to assure smooth operations between departments
- Work with Procurement to ensure accurate W-9s are collected and entered properly to ensure proper 1099 reporting to the IRS
- Research and resolve credits, discrepancies, and open issues, problem invoices and purchase orders.
- Prepare, enter, and review monthly accruals
- Perform other duties as requested
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 -7 years relevant experience
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Experience with JDE and D365 helpful. Prior experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledgeable of banking websites and how they interface with ERPs
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; time management essential
- Self-motivated, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain a consistent teamwork mentality
