Roles and Responsibilities:
Manages/leads staff assigned to projects in the design and construction of new transportation infrastructure.
Directs consultants and manages design and construction services contracts for assigned capital program project(s).
Formulates technical solutions to satisfy project(s) objectives with new or established engineering applications.
Establishes and maintains project schedules for assigned capital program project(s).
Provides inter-departmental coordination to ensure that assigned capital program project(s) is being built in compliance with the affected user-department specifications while maintaining the overall project objectives.
Provides inter-agency coordination to ensure that assigned capital program project(s) are designed and constructed in compliance with the guidelines and requirements of federal, state, regional and municipal regulatory agencies.
Establishes and maintains project budgets
Prepares status reports, updates and presentations
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree in Engineering, Planning or related field and seven years of increasingly responsible experience in planning, design or construction of public transportation capital projects or railroad improvement projects.
A master's degree preferred in Engineering, Planning, or related field can substitute for two (2) years of experience.
