Job Overview
The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for generating revenue through effective sales strategies, fostering relationships with clients, and promoting the hotel's services and amenities. This position requires strong communication skills, a passion for hospitality, and a proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Create and implement sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and event planners.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and understand competitive positioning.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote the hotel and generate leads.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients, showcasing the hotel's offerings.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to secure bookings while maximizing profitability.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
- Monitor sales performance and prepare reports for management on sales activities and outcomes.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client needs and concerns promptly.
- Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in hotel sales or a related field.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel management software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and sales performance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
