Job Title: Manager, Risk Management

Reports To: Senior Director, Risk Management

FLSA Status: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for developing and implementing advanced fraud mitigation strategies within our consumer lending portfolios. This role will lead comprehensive initiatives from conceptualization through data analysis to final rollout, with a core focus on enhancing risk strategies that support financial inclusion and the expansion of access to responsible credit.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitor and Analyze Trends: Continuously assess fraud trends, third-party solutions, and industry best practices to inform risk strategies.
  • Evaluate Performance: Track the effectiveness of fraud prevention strategies, vendor solutions, and internal processes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide Insightful Reporting: Deliver timely performance insights to senior management, empowering data-driven business decisions.
  • Data Integration and Automation: Contribute to the evaluation of alternative data sources and emerging technology-driven solutions, aimed at automating processes, reducing first- and third-party fraud losses, and improving operational efficiencies within the Risk department.
  • Optimize Funding Processes: Support business units by developing and deploying innovative fraud detection strategies to enhance the funding process.
  • Reporting and Dashboard Management: Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to assist senior management in decision-making processes.
  • Data Analysis and Tools Utilization: Leverage MySQL, Domo, Tableau, and other data management tools to design data-driven strategic responses to business inquiries.
  • Data Collection and Workflow Design: Gather and analyze data, design effective workflows, and identify key data relationships and dependencies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering and product teams to implement automation solutions and work closely with credit operations to address account-level escalations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, etc.), preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience managing fraud risk in fintech or financial services organizations.
  • 2+ years of professional experience working for a lending company preferred.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience with SQL, Tableau (or other BI tools), Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience leveraging large and complex datasets for driving business decisions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach and sit for a minimum of 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and/or tools. The employee is required to talk or hear with or without reasonable accommodation and must sometimes lift and move up to 10 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the logistics duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moderate noises such as computers, printers, and other light traffic noise in an office setting.

This role is in-office. Remote work may be performed from a pre-approved location, as arranged, and scheduled by team management and approved by department leadership.
