Information Security Analyst - III

Job Title: Information Security Analyst / SOC Analyst Tier 2
Location: Ashburn VA, Cary NC, or Temple Terrace FL - Hybrid onsite

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze security events, providing in-depth investigation and initial triage of escalated incidents.
• Escalate complex issues and support Tier 3 Analysts on advanced incidents requiring expert analysis.
• Conduct SIEM tuning and basic content creation to improve threat detection and response.
• Assist in creating, maintaining, and updating security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident playbooks.
• Perform proactive threat-hunting activities under guidance from senior analysts, contributing to identification and analysis of malicious activity.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Threat Library, Security Services Advisors (SSA), and Client Security Engineers (CSE), to ensure cohesive security operations.
• Analyze and correlate security events from various data sources, including logs and alerts, to identify suspicious patterns or anomalies.
• Support process improvement initiatives, identifying and recommending updates to incident response processes.
• Participate in periodic incident post-mortem reviews to identify areas for improvement in SOC processes and response strategies.
• Provide mentoring to Tier 1 Analysts, helping to elevate overall team expertise and operational efficiency.

You'll Need to Have:

• Three or more years of relevant work experience as a security analyst.
• Three or more years of experience with SIEM software and managing use cases.
• Proven experience with scripting, parsing, and query development for security solutions.
• Experience with threat-hunting techniques and advanced threat research.
• Robust documentation, communication, and process improvement skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Even Better if You Have:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in a SOC environment.
• SIEM and SOAR solution design/architect experience (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Cortex XSOAR).
• ITIL certification.
• Industry-recognized security certifications such as CISSP, SANS, and/or GIAC.
• Expertise in infrastructure management, audit, and compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of the threat landscape and indicators of compromise.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engaging with customers and internal teams.
