Role:

The Chief of Staff will be a key driver of Northwood's operational success in service of aggressively delivering on our mission to transform the connection between earth and space. With broad exposure to the overall business, this role will partner directly with the CEO and leadership team, supporting a wide range of customer-facing and internal responsibilities to ensure operational efficiency and align Northwood's business execution. This role will span strategic planning, process optimization, and day-to-day operational management, making you central to solving some of our most critical challenges as we scale a global network.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & KPI Tracking:
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO to craft, implement, and track business KPIs. Support the development of long-term operating plans, ensuring that milestones are met and resources are allocated efficiently to achieve Northwood's objectives.
  • Support in drafting key external and internal communications materials, such as board deck documents
Customer Management & Operational Streamlining:
  • Lead initial activities in the lines articulated below, ultimately structure and define teams to lead activities at scale
  • Commercial: Lead the effort to enhance customer-related processes, from contract negotiation to project management, ensuring smooth deployment and customer success. Develop systems that improve the efficiency of customer interactions and contribute to long-term client relationships.
  • Government: Lead project management efforts for government contracts across a range of acquisition strategies, ensuring all federal contract deliverables are met on time and within scope. Manage relationships with procurement office representatives and support proposal preparation and contract negotiations.
Oversight & Business Management:
  • Collaborate with external financial counsel to establish financial controls for budgeting and financial reporting. Track fiscal discipline while aligning expenditures with growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to set organizational policies and ensure compliance.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated success owning complex projects in a fast-paced or dynamic environment.
  • Capacity to participate in technical discussions and a commitment to understanding the intricacies and tradeoffs in technical ideas.
  • Skilled in developing forecasts and projections within a rapidly changing operational context.
  • Outstanding decision-making skills and poise under pressure.
  • Rigorous focus on details, committed to preserving the company's mission, and upholding a high standard of quality.
  • Manage projects to completion on schedule, addressing a broad range of challenges, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with various stakeholders.


Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a base-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, and technical capabilities. In addition to base salary, Northwood Space offers long term incentives such as company stock, stock options, and cash awards, as well as discretionary bonus for performance. Additional Information:

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
