Certified Medical Assistant

Job Description:

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in the office setting. Working closely with physicians and advanced practitioners, this team member ensures smooth and efficient patient flow. Key responsibilities include assisting with routine patient care, performing administrative tasks, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Providers: Obtain vital signs, document patients' health history, and reconcile medications
• Lab Support: Perform phlebotomy, prepare specimens for transport, and perform CLIA waived testing as ordered by providers
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management: Accurately enter documentation, organize support groups, and ensure necessary patient information is available prior to visits
• Clinic Maintenance: Keep exam rooms and treatment areas clean and well-stocked, order and maintain medication inventory, and reprocess and sterilize medical equipment
• Clerical Duties: Schedule appointments, take phone messages, scan information into EHR, and perform patient registration functions

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent
• Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients, and other staff members
• Possesses basic typing skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of proper, safe, and efficient use of current office equipment/software
• Effectively uses the electronic health record
• Current Medical Assistant Certification
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years of MA experience preferred
• Bilingual communication preferred

Salary:$50,000 - $60,000 per year
