Temporary Bookkeeper
* Cirencester, Gloucestershire
* £13.50 per hour
* Full Time, Monday to Friday
* One Month Contract to start immediately
The Burford Recruitment Company is pleased to be working on behalf of our client to find an experienced and proactive Bookkeeper to join their small, professional team on a temporary basis. This role needs to be filled immediately, and our client is looking for someone who can hit the ground running. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the smooth financial management of the business, ensuring operations continue to run efficiently in a rural setting.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Preparing monthly invoices from submitted time records.
* Liaising with fee-earning staff to finalise invoices and ensure timely issuance.
* Maintaining accurate income and expenditure records using Xero.
* Reconciling bank accounts regularly.
* Submitting VAT returns to HMRC on time.
* Managing payroll processes, including tax codes, NICs, and Smart Pension contributions.
* Issuing payslips and P60s.
* Ensuring returns to Companies House are completed accurately and on time.
* Collaborating with Tax Accountants to maintain up-to-date records and provide necessary information.
* Chasing outstanding debts, including by phone and via other debt collection methods.
* Assisting with tasks related to professional indemnity insurance and other financial matters.
The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Xero, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to solve problems with a positive, can-do attitude. Our client is seeking someone comfortable working in a small, rural office environment
