Job Description

The vacancy

Are you passionate about support work, enabling customers to manage their homes and improve their lives? Do you want to enhance your support work career by also working for an organisation recognised as a Great Place to Work? If so, this opportunity is for you.

Every one of our customers is unique, and so are you. Almost every choice you make here has the power to change someone's life for the better. This is a significant opportunity for you to make a real difference.

As a Support Worker, you'll assist customers facing mental health challenges. You'll help create a customer-focused and welcoming environment, designing and providing tailored support to customers based on individual assessments of needs, adapting your approach to suit each customer. You will also deliver quality housing and support services to sustain tenancies and promote independence.

You will collaborate with local agencies to access any specialist support and guide your customers to these resources, including debt and income support. Building positive and inclusive relationships with customers is essential, as is reviewing the impact of the support provided and determining the next steps needed.

This role is permanent and full-time working 37.5 hours per week. You'll be based in Shrewsbury (SY2 5RR). An Enhanced and Adult Barred List DBS check is required.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has experience of working in social housing and support
  • Is well organised, comfortable in making their own decisions and a problem solver
  • Can meet the needs of customers, commissioners, and the wider community, while ensuring service delivery aligns with Bromford's policies and procedures
  • Is confident in articulating services to customers, colleagues, commissioners, and partner agencies
  • Is comfortable maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer information, including handling safeguarding concerns
  • Naturally builds relationships and networks, both externally and in-house, so that people know they can trust you.

If you have previous experience as a Support Worker, mental health support worker, residential support worker, specialist support worker, care worker, a family or adult support worker, or something similar, we would be really happy to hear from you.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday 4 December.

Interviews: Wednesday 18 or Friday 20 December 2024 in Shrewsbury.
