Who You Are
- A technical specialist in Mechanical Building Services Engineering with a deep understanding of compliance, servicing, and project management.
- Experienced in overseeing mechanical engineering services, including heating, water services, air conditioning, and commercial kitchens.
- Skilled in providing specialist advice and acting as a key advisor, particularly in compliance with ISO 55000 International Standards for Asset Management.
- Adept in managing and setting performance specifications, ensuring projects meet required quality standards and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Proficient in budget and resource management, ensuring the effective use of financial resources.
- Capable of leading and managing a multidisciplinary team and maintaining service consistency in the service manager's absence.
- Knowledgeable in procurement and contract management, familiar with European procurement legislation.
What the Job Involves
- Advising the Corporate Landlord on compliance of the corporate estate and acting as the Council's mechanical engineering specialist.
- Overseeing construction project delivery and the management of mechanical engineering services.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation for safe lift operations and managing a program of inspections and risk assessments.
- Setting design and quality specifications for construction and maintenance projects, ensuring they are delivered on specification, quality, and budget.
- Monitoring contractor performance, handling underperformance, and resolving issues related to mechanical and design services.
- Managing project budgets and ensuring projects are delivered cost-effectively and efficiently.
- Ensuring all construction work complies with statutory legislation, CDM regulations, and ISO 55000 principles.
- Managing the preparation of property and construction frameworks and ensuring conformity with procurement regulations.
- Communicating and coordinating effectively between all parties involved in projects.
- Leading and developing asset management processes and contributing to policy and strategy development.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental policies, health and safety regulations, and equality and diversity policies.
- Continuing professional development, including undertaking mandatory training and contributing to performance schemes.
