SEMH Teaching Assistant Opportunity
Location: Sunderland
Pay: £83 - £100 Daily (dependent on experience & qualifications)
Days: Monday to Friday (Full-time)
Are you passionate about supporting children and making a positive difference in their lives? At Protocol Education, we’re looking for resilient and enthusiastic SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistants to join a well-established SEMH setting in Sunderland.
About the Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping students overcome challenges and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor Progress: Guide students to identify areas requiring improvement.
Provide Support: Assist in the emotional, physical, and social development of pupils.
Prepare Learning Spaces: Set up and tidy classrooms before and after lessons.
Create Resources: Help teachers develop materials tailored to the needs of the pupils.
Supervise Activities: Organise and oversee projects and sports sessions.

Strong communication skills to engage effectively with teachers and students.
The ability to create and maintain positive relationships with pupils.
Active listening skills and sensitivity towards children’s needs.
