Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Process Engineer on a 2 year contract located in Lisburn.

Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Monitoring and Diagnostics team. Our mission is to develop state of the art monitoring technologies, generally deployed in an Electrical Substation, allowing a customer to understand and optimize the operating condition of their Electrical Power Transformers, circuit breakers and other substation assets.
You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of projects to support the growth of our business, Improve and/or develop global supply chain processes and to improve product quality and effectively working in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities
- New Product Introduction (NPI) Project planning and execution of tasks to set timeline

- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management.

- Lead the development and execution of process validation plans, including Design of Experiments (DOE), Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and statistical process control (SPC).

- Collaborate with the product development team during the design and prototyping stages to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness

- Provide input on design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for test (DFT)

- Improve H&S and Ergonomics in production cells

- Learn and apply lean tools and technics

- Develop and implement Process improvement through Assembly and test automation

- Create, review and up-date process documentation as required

- Analysis of existing processes and execution of improvements

- Root cause analysis of reported production and process issues

- Collaborate with the quality team to establish quality control measures, standards, and procedures

- Collaborate with production teams to provide support in troubleshooting manufacturing problems

- Review Production line Layout and re-structuring

- Support of daily production activities

Essential Criteria
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Degree in Engineering/Science (preferably Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical and Mechanical, but all considered)
- Competency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
- Demonstrated time management capability
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment or independently on multiple projects with strict completion deadlines.
- Good writing skills, accuracy and an eye for detail.

Desired Criteria
- Previous industrial work experience
- Ability to collaborate across various functions and levels within the operations team
- Confident at programming in excel and managing or developing databases/macros
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
- Familiar with programming language example LabVIEW
- Familiar with general purpose test equipment
- Motivated to eliminate waste
- Enthusiastic and imaginative
