Commercial Talent Solutions is working in partnership with an established regional housebuilder based in Durham, currently looking to add a Quantity Surveyor to their commercial ranks.
With a large landbank & extensive sites in the offing for 2025, this business is a safe home for anyone that wants a secured and well-balanced workload. The preferred candidate will be an integral part of the close-knit commercial team and will have a perfect opportunity for long-term career progression.
Together, we are seeking candidates with new build residential experience, preferably having managed 2-3 live sites concurrently. Additional procurement experience would be of major benefit, although not essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with site / project managers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
*
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for projects in the new build residential sector.
*
Procure materials, subcontractors, and services while ensuring value for money.
*
Monitor project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risk management strategies.
*
Prepare and evaluate subcontractor and supplier contracts.
*
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
*
Provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
*
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications:
*
HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or time served as a commercial professional.
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a focus on new build residential projects.
*
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
*
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
*
Proficiency in relevant software tools.
*
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
*
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
