Job Description
QC Technician required on a fixed term contract, based in Lancashire. Requiring a degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science and proven industrial experience in the quality control of chemical products.
Title: QC Technician
Location: Lancashire
Salary: £26,000 - £33,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Term: 12-month fixed term contract
SRG are working exclusively with a leading manufacturer specialising in the development and manufacture of construction products. Due to some internal re-structuring, they are now looking to appoint a QC Technician to join the team in their laboratory on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role involves physical and chemical testing of products using a range of techniques and will suit candidates that have proven industrial experience in a similar Quality Control (QC) role.

Working hours: Rotating shift pattern 6:00am-2:30pm, 7:30am-4:00pm and 1:30pm - 10:00pm
Role / Description
Undertaking physical and mechanical testing on raw materials, manufactured finished goods and bought in finished goods to ensure that they meet requirements, ensuring reliability and precision of test results
Testing of production material in accordance with EN Standards e.g. flex testing, composition testing
Maintaining lab and lab equipment ensuring all calibrations and certificates are kept up to date
Assisting in the control of production formulations
Liaising with Production Manager to ensure required formulation alterations are effectively communicated to the Production Operatives
Maintaining work and test results in line with the company Quality Procedure
Adhering to company health, safety, environmental and ethical policies
Requirements
Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science
Proven industrial QC experience of chemical products
Self-motivated and pro-active, with a willingness to learn
Thorough, with good attention to detail
