Labour Climate and Environment Forum (LCEF) is an independent organisation working across the labour movement to strengthen climate and environmental ambition. As Operations Manager at LCEF, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the organisation.
Job Description
This is a part-time role for an Operations Manager at LCEF in London, with a specific remit for financial, legal and regulatory oversight of the organisation.
We are looking for someone able to take on responsibility for day-to-day office management and running of finances, as well as offering support and guidance to senior management on the organisational budget and staffing decision. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing the organisation’s engagement with the board of trustee’, managing IT systems, developing and upkeeping LCEF’s internal policies and procedures, helping to ensure LCEF’s processes remain legally compliant and supporting the Senior Leadership Team with ad hoc administrative tasks as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have some experience working in a similar role, with knowledge of the political sector a plus. They will be well equipped to work in a fast-paced environment and able to take on other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience in managing a budget and in financial reporting to senior leadership
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and financial regulations
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within a diverse environment, with a diplomatic and sensitive tone
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong IT skills in general
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Experience in politics or Parliament welcome but not essential
- Experience in developing and upkeeping organisational processes welcome but not essential
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (per annum pro-rata, 2-3 days per week)
Length of Contract: Initial contract of 1 year, with expectation of extension
