Is a fast-growing innovative business which is looking to invest in and deliver over £1bn of heat network projects in the coming years. They fund, design, build, operates and maintain low carbon district energy networks and building energy systems. This work is for communities, towns, and cities. We work with local authorities, developers, house builders, and property owners.
Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Building services engineer with strong design, technical, and software skills to work collaboratively in multi-professional teams, overseeing projects from inception to completion. This role offers the unique opportunity to "own" a design project from start to operational handover, with continued involvement post-handover to monitor feedback and improve both the current and future designs.
Specific Tasks include:
Learning
Designing hydronic systems and system calculations
Undertake hydraulic and thermal modelling of system through the use of software.
Assist in the design of medium to large scale low carbon energy systems, heat distribution networks, controls, plant-rooms, thermal storage and fuel storage.
The production of detailed drawings, reports and specifications.
Surveying and evaluating existing buildings energy systems.
Assist in the production of viability and feasibility reports of energy systems,
Coordinating the work of others and coordinating work with engineers of other discipline
Provide regular on and off-site evaluation to ensure design compliance during construction phase.
Experience & Knowledge
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
Competent in the numerate design of electrical services for large scale energy centres and multiapartment buildings.
Electrical Design Experience with good knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, regulations, guides, and all-round good practice.
Knowledge of LV Distribution systems, lighting and emergency lighting, small power, fire alarms and detection, protection, standby power supplies, earthing.
A proven track record of design delivery of Electrical projects
Experience on a range of industries and experience with various Electrical packages and general building services installations.
An enthusiastic approach with a determination to surpass our and our clients’ expectations.
Experience in producing calculations, analysis reports, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications, and other related documents.
Skills
Ability to produce detailed schematic representations of LV.
Highly competent in AutoCAD
Experience in the use of Revit and Navisworks.
Experience in using Construction Management platforms such as Procore.
IT proficient; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email systems, etc. as a minimum.
Able to work as a member of a team.
Excellent communication and presentations skills, written and oral.
Good organisational, time management and planning.
Creative, inquisitive and enjoys solving problems.
Willingness to question conventional design methods.
Proficient in the use of design packages such as Dialux, and Amtech.
A strong desire to learn, develop and progress.
High level of computer (IT) literacy
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A team player with a high level of self-motivation and organisational ability
Able to produce, format and manage Microsoft Office documents (Word & Excel)
Remuneration and Info
Remuneration: Base £28,000- £34,000 (depending on experience).
Discretionary bonus based on individual and business performance.
