JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architectural Technologist to join our technical design team. The candidate will be responsible for the technical design and detailing of our care home projects. This role involves working closely with all project stakeholders to ensure that designs are practical, compliant with regulations, and implemented effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Design and Development:
* Produce detailed architectural designs and drawings using CAD software.
* Develop building plans, sections, elevations, and construction details.
* Ensure designs meet building regulations, standards, and sustainability requirements.
Project Management:
* Coordinate with site teams, engineers, and other stakeholders.
* Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
* Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion.
Building Regulations and Compliance:
* Ensure that all designs comply with relevant building codes and regulations.
* Prepare and submit planning applications and building control applications.
* Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies as needed.
Technical Documentation:
* Prepare detailed specifications and schedules.
* Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
Site Visits and Inspections:
* Conduct occasional site visits to monitor construction and ensure compliance with design specifications.
* Address any technical issues that arise during the construction process.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational Background:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in architectural technology, building technology, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
* Strong understanding of building construction, materials, and methods.
* In depth knowledge of UK building regulations and associated standards.
Project Management Skills:
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Communication Skills:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Experience:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction or architectural industry.
* Proven track record of successful project delivery.
WORKING HOURS & LOCATION:
* 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
* Based in an office environment with occasional site visits.
