Job Description
Job Title: Project Designer
Reports to: Design Director
Department/Location: Hybrid
Days of week: 5
Hours: 08:30-17:00 (1 hour lunch)
Date: 24/10/24
JOB PURPOSE
* Produce detailed drawings and schedules from approval through to fabrication and as built. Ensure design content is fully considered, buildable and clear for approvers and installers.
* Manage own time and effectiveness to deliver high quality outputs on time.
* Follow procedural compliance in all aspects of the project delivery, including, but not limited to design checklists, programmes, document control, design risk assessment and project specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* To ensure your projects are completed on time, to the required standard and client’s satisfaction.
* Ensure all designs, drawings and schedules are to the required standard of compliance, ensuring procurement, manufacturing and installation phases can be completed efficiently on time, without error and on budget.
* Attending design meetings and liaise with our clients.
* Manage own time and effectiveness to deliver high quality outputs on time.
* Follow procedural compliance in all aspects of the project delivery, including, but not limited to design checklists, programmes, document control, design risk assessment and project specifications.
SKILLS
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Fully conversant with CAD systems - Inventor, AutoCAD and Revit.
* Ability to understand industry drawings from architects, engineers and subcontractors.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques.
* Practical understanding of installation methods.
* Ability to react and adapt appropriately to changing deadlines, budget restrictions and client’s needs.
* Good knowledge of the construction design process so that programming works can be well considered.
* Good knowledge of document management systems (collaboration portals and document naming conventions).
* Ability to work on multiple projects at once and keeping clients and colleagues well informed on progress.
* Experience in manufacturing and coating processes.
* Good written and numeric skills, with a positive, energetic enthusiasm to get things done and achieve results, particularly through teamwork.
