Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: £40k - £45k DOE
Working Hours:
* Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
* Friday: 08:30 – 16:15
* 45-minute break per day
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
This role is part of an established Projects Team, which manages capital equipment projects from Sales Order to Cash, including design, manufacturing, site installation, commissioning, testing (FAT/SAT), and warranty claims for steam and hot water raising equipment. As a Project Engineer, you’ll work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success from inception through to completion, driving each phase with technical accuracy, effective planning, and proactive communication.
You will interact daily with stakeholders such as clients, client consultants, statutory bodies, and internal teams in design, production, sales, finance, installation, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning: Assist in planning job orders and ensuring accurate data.
2. Communication: Act as the liaison between clients and internal teams, keeping all stakeholders updated.
3. Technical Accuracy: Ensure project details are accurate and commercially aligned.
4. Project Management: Organise and monitor projects to meet customer needs and deadlines.
5. Customer Service: Manage client expectations, delivering a high standard of service.
Additional Responsibilities
* Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive projects through a structured stage gate process.
* Define the scope of work for both internal and client-side understanding.
* Manage project risks, including risk registry and mitigation planning.
* Communicate project progress to internal and external stakeholders.
* Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
* Oversee variations and change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
* Report on project performance to senior leadership.
* Work closely with engineering, contractors, and vendors to support contract negotiations and deliverables.
Requirements
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations.
* Proven experience managing projects within engineering or special purpose machinery sectors.
* Excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills.
* Ability to negotiate effectively and address challenges constructively.
* Experience building relationships with stakeholders at all levels
