Contract: Full-time, Permanent – Day shift

This company specialises in a range of forging processes, including open-die radial, press, hammer, ring rolling, closed-die extrusion, drop stamp, and blade forging. With comprehensive facilities, they deliver a fully integrated metals service—from ingot and billet preparation to final machining and quality testing.
About the Role:
The Metallurgist will play a vital role in managing material conversion and designing production routes to ensure the delivery of precision-engineered alloy products. This position involves close collaboration with quality and technical teams to optimise processes, ensure compliance with rigorous standards, and support cost-efficiency initiatives. As a key contact for customers, the Metallurgist will also assist with audits and investigate any quality issues, upholding the company’s reputation for exceptional product quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and guide hot material conversion processes.
Design, implement, and monitor production and manufacturing routes.
Serve as a liaison for customer audits and technical inquiries.
Conduct non-conformance investigations and implement corrective actions.
Drive product and process improvements to maximize performance and reduce costs. About you: (Essential)
Strong understanding of metallurgy and material processing.
Experience with quality control and inspection protocols.
Attention to detail, organisational skills, and sound decision-making abilities.
A collaborative and proactive team player.
5+ years of Industry experience
Experience with auditing What would make you stand out? (Desirable)
Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science
Experience in Forging What’s in it for you?
Competitive salary £47,643 P.A (With a little flexibility depending on experience)
Holidays – you will have 33 days of holiday, including bank holidays
Working 37h per week 8.15 am - 4.30 pm with some early starts required as forging starts at 6 am.
