Job Description
Financial Reporting Controller; Templecombe; 7-month contract: £341 per day via umbrella company: inside IR35
We have a requirement for a qualified management accountant to undertake a reporting role with an aerospace and defence client. The role will be hybrid with the postholder required on site 3 days per week
Primary Purpose of the Role is as follows:
To Support the preparation of the monthly management accounts & provide relevant management information for the business area
Provide accurate, timely and reliable financial information with supporting analysis & commentary as required
To adopt best practise in the use of Oracle
To champion the transformation of the finance function through involvement of group finance initiatives
To assist the preparation of the MYB for the business area
To support Business Improvements Initiatives and to lead on improving the ‘Finance Predictability’ agenda with a specific focus on balance sheet reconciliations and data integrity
Principal Relationships:
The jobholder will report to the Financial Reporting Controller for guidance, career development and for day-to-day operational activities, whilst working closely with the Finance Reporting Controller
A number of this role’s deliverables will be to Senior Management within the business.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Support the preparation, reporting and review of Monthly Reporting in collaboration with the Finance Reporting Controller and Finance Controller.
P&L, Balance Sheet & Group templates: using the financial systems Oracle B1, TM1 and Magnitude
Perform appropriate reviews to ensure integrity of numbers
Magnitude Input
Support and Review performance against the Multi Year Budgets (MYB)
Including the production and analysis of ad-hoc supplementary schedules and KPI’s as required.
Support the development and maintain effective mechanisms for the review of MYB, annual budgets & estimates and for the production of realisable financial forecasts Prepare the Balance Sheet reconciliations escalating where required Key R&Os
Support to the Management and Review of the business working capital, with specific focus on
Cash – accuracy of Forecasts
Inventory – accuracy of holding, utilisation & accounting
Assist in the implementation of IT tools and reporting techniques
Ensure as far as the role dictates that financial affairs are conducted in accordance with Group Principles (including compliance)
Maintain an ethical approach to business in line with the company Ethics Policy
Continually seek to improve finance processes to ensure a robust controlled environment.
Ad hoc tasks, reporting and analysis as required.
Skills and Experience
Previous management accounting and reporting experience
Good knowledge of company accounting rules and procedures
Part - Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA
Experience of working in a changing environment
Accuracy and Diligence
Ability to work to a high standard
Drive and enthusiasm with a can-do attitude
Ability to communicate confidently with both finance and non-finance
Good MS Office skills-advanced Excel
Good telephone manner
Highly IT literate
Flexible and adaptable
Ability to work well within a team
