Using their innovative products and solutions, DataDome is changing the standard for online fraud protection: proudly protecting over 250 companies worldwide, including TripAdvisor, The New York Times, Foot Locker, Patreon, Carrefour, BlaBlaCar, ZocDoc, Veepee and Reddit.

The company is fully remote-enabled, allowing the 160 "BotBusters" spread around the world (and they are actively recruiting!) to collectively protect their customers from malicious traffic.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Legal Counsel in Paris!

The Legal Team is responsible for leading and executing legal work that enables DataDome’s global business and product teams to deliver helpful products and services to the customers.

This includes agreement preparation and execution, partnership support, and product counseling.

Legal Team members are the primary advisors to business, product, and technical teams, being the starting point and finish line of any communication seeking legal advice.

Your Scope:

As the Legal Counsel, you will draft and review a variety of commercial agreements, including DPAs and Sales agreements. You will also monitor their contractual process: from creation to signing and archiving.

Contract management

  1. Review, draft, and discuss complex legal agreements (e.g. clients agreements, suppliers agreements, Partnerships, etc).
  2. Management and monitoring of our contractual process: you will monitor the entire life of our contracts, from creation to signing and archiving.
  3. Draft and maintain templates that comply with company policies and local laws.
  4. Assistance in updating and localizing processes and templates for contractual documents.
  5. Advise global/regional operational teams on legal issues and risks, agreement structures, and company policies.
  6. Addressing security, IT, IP and Data Privacy problematics.
  7. Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal policies and processes.

Legal research and follow-up

  1. Work closely with the Global Legal Manager to assist with regulatory/legislative analysis.
  2. Legal research and analysis of legal issues.
  3. Monitoring and follow-up of the group's Legal problematics.
  4. Intervene on various ad hoc matters (Data Privacy, IT, IP, Tax, etc).

Internal communication & Legal training

  1. Management of the legal intranet.
  2. Participation in the communication of the Legal Team to operational staff.
  3. Proposal and participation in the development of internal communication tools (legal cards, training materials, newsletter, intranet, Sharepoint management, etc.).
  4. Drafting and implementation of training materials and presentations.

Project Management

  1. Manage and Monitor middle and long-term projects involving various departments.
  2. Conducting team and planning meetings.
  3. Liaising with other departments and providing reports on project progress as required.

What we look for:

  1. M1 or M2 law degree in commercial or civil law.
  2. 7+ years of experience in a company (preferably in the SaaS / digital / software world).
  3. Excellent written and spoken English.
  4. Experience managing detailed information (e.g., communications, documents, electronic files, etc.).
  5. Experience supporting the continuous maintenance and improvement of forms, processes, and systems.
  6. Deep experience in addressing contractual issues in cloud, data security, privacy, and intellectual property matters is strongly preferred.
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent attention to detail.
  8. Ability to maintain confidentiality when managing sensitive information.

Bonus :

  1. Law firm experience is a plus.
  2. Knowledge of data privacy/transfer would be an advantage.
