Job Description

Advance Sustainability through digital solutions to support Avery Dennison’s and its customers’ sustainability goals is a mandate for the IT organization. Sustainability goals are essential to Avery Dennison’s responsibilities, growth, and future. Alongside enabling the use of information technology to improve revenue, cost efficiencies, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement, digital technology can also help Avery Dennison make meaningful progress on its three company-wide sustainability goals: innovating for a circular economy, reducing our environmental impact, and serving as a force for good. As an IT Business Analyst, you will partner with the global Sustainability and any other relevant functions in order to support the execution of our business objectives and strategies. In order to succeed you will have to act as the link between IT, innovation, and Sustainability groups of the business and leverage the decentralized, cross-functional internal network of functional champions. Therefore, it is essential that you have experience driving innovation and positive change by applying your IT business analysis skills and by bringing together varied groups of stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  1. Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with key business stakeholders around sustainability and innovation, and IT stakeholders globally.
  2. Work with the functional Business Process Owners and Subject Matter Experts to evaluate business processes and facilitate requirements gathering activities.
  3. Work with functional Subject Matter Experts to ensure a successful end-to-end functional testing and knowledge transfer to Application Support teams.
  4. Develop requirements, integration requirements, and complete design documentation activities.
  5. Support tool selection and gap analysis activities in close collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
  6. Drive continuous improvement of our IT practices, procedures, and supporting tools.
Qualifications

Education:

Master’s/Bachelor’s degree, ideally with a major in IT, Business Administration, Operations Research or Computer Science, or equivalent experience supporting Sustainability and Innovation business processes as an IT professional. Additional education/certifications on sustainability are considered a plus.

Experience and skills:

  1. An unrelenting passion for positive change and the acceleration of sustainability not only for organizations but society at large.
  2. At least 4 - 7 years+ of fundamental experience as a Business Analyst (or roles alike), ideally within the manufacturing industry, or coming from the technology space.
  3. Experience with IT implementations (applications and/or analytics) with regards to Life Cycle Assessment, Circularity, Corporate Sustainability, EHS, CSR, ESG, UN SDGs, and other relevant frameworks is strongly desirable.
  4. Supply Chain Management knowledge is desirable.
  5. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual/critical thinking skills.
  6. Strong organizational, project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  7. Able to work in a matrix environment within and out with the IT organization.
  8. Data savviness and critical attention to detail.
  9. Capable to travel, and experience of working collaboratively across a range of cultures within a global structure.
