Job Description
**Job Title:** CT Technologist - Cat Scan - Nights
**Job Specialty:** Imaging
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Night (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

**Experience:** Minimum 1 year in Radiology; less than 1 year in CT preferred
**License:** Radiologic Technology Certification
**Certifications:** ARRT Radiography, ARRT Computed Tomography, Basic Life Support (BLS)
**Must-Have:**
- Excellent communication skills for interactions with healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
- Ability to manage stress and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to multitask effectively and set priorities appropriately.
- Independent functioning while being a collaborative team member.
- Adherence to hospital policies, practices, and professional standards.
- Proficiency in all aspects of CT, patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection.
- Understanding of anatomy and pathology related to procedure quality.

**Job Description:**
- Perform diagnostic exams according to department procedures, ensuring safety and care for patients.
- Independently operate imaging equipment and execute technical procedures with judgment and initiative.
- Verify clinician orders, obtain clinical history, and assess for contraindicating conditions.
- Administer contrast medias following established procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Identify patients using two identifiers and ensure proper documentation.
- Review CT/radiographic images for clinical acceptability and patient release.
- Respond to emergencies and maintain life support equipment and crash carts.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment, adhering to infection control policies.
- Explain exam purposes to patients using AIDET protocol to minimize anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Educate patients on preparatory procedures and respond to their questions or concerns.
- Participate in orientation and training of new departmental staff.
- Maintain an orderly department, restocking supplies, and completing documentation.
- Operate all workstations in the CT department and manage image transfers to PACS.
- Comply with all hospital policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
- Be willing to assist others and perform clerical and support duties as needed.
- Maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
