Job Description

Halliday Marx have partnered with an excellent and accounting practice to recruit an Associate Accountant on a permanent basis.

This role is 3 days a week in the office, 2 from home.

Responsibilities;

  • Managing a portfolio of clients ensuring timely & accurate production of financial statements, CT600,
  • Management accounts and reporting packs (including monthly bookkeeping & payroll)
  • Acting as major point of contact for clients together with the Business Line Manager. This includes
  • responding quickly to, as well as anticipating, client requests/needs, keeping clients informed of
  • progress and identifying cross-selling opportunities
  • Company incorporation and set up (including coordination of UK bank account opening, employment contracts, employee benefits)
  • Building sustainable external and internal client relationships
  • Performing Company Secretary duties for clients
  • Use of Sage 50, QuickBooks Online or other cloud based solutions to maintain books and produce
  • Trial balance, profit & loss and other reports
  • Processing monthly payrolls including general payroll queries and related issues
  • Preparation of HMRC related returns including monthly PAYE/NI submissions and quarterly VAT returns.
  • Admin and any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements;

  • Graduate with an Accounting degree or AAT level 4 Qualified
  • Excellent double entry bookkeeping, payroll & organisational skills
  • 2 years experience working in a UK or French Accounting firm
  • QuickBooks and similar accounting solutions would be advantageous
  • French speaker would be a benefit but not essential.
