SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tunbridge Wells
Salary: £83.33 – £95.00 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time
Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs in a positive and inclusive learning environment?
GSL Education Kent are currently seeking dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistants to join schools in Tunbridge Wells, starting immediately.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with a variety of needs, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, autism spectrum condition (ASC), ADHD, and other SEND requirements. Working closely with teachers and SENCOs, you'll contribute to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence, and academic progress. Your responsibilities as SEN TA will include assisting teachers with delivering personalised lessons, supporting students in small groups and one-on-one settings, and adapting lesson plans to meet each student's unique needs. Additionally, you will help students build independence, encourage their personal growth, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure smooth transitions when the teacher is absent.
SEN TA Requirements
To be successful in the role of SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:
CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not mandatory).
A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is desirable.
Experience working with children in an SEN environment or as a SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and patient attitude.
The ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the unique needs of students.
