Based in either the Newcastle or Cramlington site
Permanent role-40 hours per week- day shift
£16.20 per hour + 1.5 uplift overtime rate

A well-established sub-contractor in the steel fabrication industry specialising in structural/secondary steel work, staircases, balustrading, metalwork, gates, railings, fire escapes and agricultural metalwork, mild and stainless steel, on site and off-site fabrication and welding.
Job role:
Fabricator responsibilities required being involved in the fabrication of metal components used in architectural projects. This can include structural and decorative elements such as railings, staircases, facades, cladding, and other metal fixtures.
The Architectural Metal Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of metal components for architectural projects. This role requires expertise in reading technical drawings, working with a variety of metals (such as steel, aluminium, and stainless steel), and ensuring the finished products meet both design specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication: Use cutting, welding, bending, and assembly techniques to create metal parts and structures according to technical drawings and specifications.
Measurement & Layout: Accurately measure and lay out materials for fabrication, ensuring precision and alignment with design plans.
Welding & Joining: Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and other metal joining processes to assemble pieces.
Finishing: Grind, polish, or coat metal surfaces to ensure a smooth finish, corrosion resistance, and aesthetic appearance.
Installation: Assist with or oversee the installation of fabricated metal components on construction sites, ensuring proper fit and safety.
Quality Control: Inspect and test completed pieces for accuracy, structural integrity, and compliance with architectural specifications.
Maintenance: Maintain tools, machines, and equipment in good working condition, reporting any malfunctions or repairs required.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other tradespeople to ensure that designs are correctly implemented.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols on site and in the workshop, ensuring safe practices in welding, cutting, and handling of materials.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational or technical training in metalworking, welding, or construction is preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in metal fabrication, preferably with a focus on architectural components.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Expertise in metalworking processes such as cutting, welding, bending, and polishing.
Experience working with various metals (steel, aluminium, stainless steel).
Tools and Equipment: Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment, including welding machines, plasma cutters, grinders,
