The Opportunity
We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to the successful delivery of high-profile projects within the Nuclear sector. As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of technical tasks, from initial concept development through to detailed design and project execution. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background, looking to develop their skills and take on a broad range of responsibilities. You will be joining a supportive, collaborative team environment focused on allowing you to grow.
Remuneration and benefits

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Supporting and delivering technical studies and projects across various phases, including FEED, design, construction, commissioning, and plant operations.
Assisting with the design and development of mechanical systems, including process design, mechanical flow diagrams, P&IDs, and layout drawings.
Reviewing and preparing technical documentation, including specifications, hazard analysis, and failure modes.
Conducting studies related to mechanical handling, heavy transfer systems, powder processes, compaction, and mechanical dismantling in highly controlled environments.
Working closely with other engineering disciplines, clients, and technical experts to ensure successful project delivery.
Occasionally supporting travel to client or site locations to assist with project requirements.You will have the following qualifications & experience
We are looking for candidates who have a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, are ready to develop their career in the nuclear industry and have a proactive approach to problem-solving.
A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline).
Proven experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the nuclear or other highly regulated sectors.
Experience in mechanical design, including FEED, detailed design, technical documentation review, and supporting contractor management.It’s great if you also have the following
Familiarity with mechanical handling, powder technologies, and related systems.
An understanding of the nuclear sector, or other regulated industries, including safety and regulatory requirements.
Ideally, you will be an Associate Member of a relevant professional body.
Ability to hold a minimum of ‘SC’ UK Security Clearance.The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
