Freelance Site Manager – Care Home Refurbishment
Location: Edinburgh
Project Duration: 3 months (January start)
Project Value: £500,000
Day Rate: Competitive
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a care home refurbishment project in Edinburgh. This 3-month project involves managing a live environment, requiring exceptional attention to health and safety, as well as ensuring minimal disruption to residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage all on-site activities, ensuring the project progresses on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
* Oversee contractors and trades, maintaining efficient workflows and resolving on-site issues.
* Ensure compliance with CDM (Construction Design and Management) Regulations and all relevant health and safety protocols.
* Liaise with stakeholders, including the care home management, design teams, and external contractors.
* Conduct regular progress updates and report to the client and project team.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience managing refurbishment projects in live environments (e.g., care homes, hospitals, schools).
* Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and health and safety best practices.
* Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and ensure smooth operations.
* CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certifications.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable:
* Previous experience working on healthcare or care home refurbishment projects.
* Knowledge of local Edinburgh suppliers and trades.
