Job Description
Contract Manager - Poole
Ready to shape your future with a global leader in innovation and technology? If so, a Contract Manager role at Yunex Traffic could be your next career move!
We’re seeking an experienced professional with a background in traffic signals or related fields such as highways, electrical, civil engineering, or local authority maintenance to join our dynamic Services team in Poole. While traffic signal experience is preferred, it’s not essential – we value a proactive and adaptable approach above all.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of a variety of service contracts and projects, covering a diverse range of highway electrical infrastructure such as traffic signals, connected mobility solutions, enforcement and tolling, and electromobility. You’ll need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple demands and building effective communication across all levels.
At Yunex Traffic, the opportunities are as exciting as the challenges. With our commitment to innovation, you’ll be encouraged to take charge from day one, backed by ongoing training and support.
What will you do?
Lead the end-to-end management of all Traffic Signal Installation schemes across the region.
Manage a mid-sized team of on-street operatives and supervisors, ensuring Health & Safety standards, quality, and project delivery timelines are met, aligned to both contractual and customer expectations.
Plan, coordinate, and deploy your team effectively to deliver top-quality service.
Work closely with contractors and supply chain partners to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and safe service delivery.
Drive performance and skill development through regular reviews, setting objectives, and providing ongoing support.
Collaborate with Commercial & Finance teams to manage scheme costs, mitigate financial risks, and ensure timely billing and invoicing.
Produce and manage monthly financial forecasts across a wide range of projects, varying from £10K to £500K.
Engage with internal stakeholders like Tendering Managers, Regional Sales Managers, and Commercial partners to align project delivery.
Contribute to business improvement initiatives at both local and national levels.
Represent your team confidently in pre-contract and customer review meetings.
Handle HR topics such as Capability, Sickness, and Performance management within your team. What do you need?
Experience in Project Management, ideally within highways, traffic signals, or Section 278 works.
Understanding of highway and traffic signal infrastructure is beneficial.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
Knowledge of Street Works permitting and Traffic Management requirements.
Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment legislation (IOSH/NEBOSH).
Management or supervisory experience in a technical role (electrical, highways, traffic management, civil/mechanical engineering, IT/comms infrastructure).
Familiarity with Contract/Commercial principles.
Proficiency in IT systems and software.
Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Understanding of continuous improvement and project management principles. What do we offer?
Competitive base salary with an annual bonus.
Continuous learning and career development opportunities.
26 days of holiday, increasing to 29 with service length.
37.5-hour workweek.
Company vehicle, tools, PPE, and uniform.
Excellent pension with matching contributions up to 10% of salary.
Flexible benefits to suit your personal needs.
