Technical Design Authority - Data Services
Contract
Reading/Hybrid - 2-3 days per week onsite
Job Context
As a Technical Design Authority within the Data services team, the candidate will be accountable for the design, Performance and Lifecycle Management of the 3G, 4G & 5GSA elements and architectures within the Data Core domain. The role will consist of the candidate working closely with business stakeholders, Strategy and Architecture teams, as well as Delivery and Operational partners to ensure the design meet the business requirements and are captured, understood, and deployed into the UK core network.
You should have strong Packet Core and cloud expertise, capable of swiftly driving a high-impact, time-sensitive program forward. Excellent communication, architectural skills, and vendor management experience are essential for effectively aligning with senior leaders and steering vendor collaboration.
As part of the role, candidates will be expected to:
Work with the Technical Design Authorities to build and prioritise 18 month technical
Work with partners to manage the performance and capacity of the technical
Build and manage excellent working relationship with our partners and developing this to meet our current and future needs.
Work with the project management function & third parties to drive the delivery of projects under their control ensuring the delivery of the solutions conforms to contractual outcomes and
Responsibilities
Accountable for the design and Lifecycle Management of the 3G,4G & 5GSA elements and architectures within the Data Core
Provide technical support to the various teams and the supplier in governing the solution architecture and ensuring solution design meets the business outcomes.
Will have hands on, day to day understanding and technical subject matter experience of there
Demonstrates specialist knowledge required for the role including relevant standards, regulations, frameworks, technologies and Will be able to demonstrate implementing and making recommendations for improvements that are in line with strategies.
Manage the relationship with our partners and developing this to meet our current and future
Work with operation teams to progress fault investigations and maintain the existing & Telco Cloud Networks.
Domain specific knowledge & experience:
Excellent working knowledge of Packet core, 3G, LTE & 5GSA data networks on an end to end
Good understanding of 3GPP standards specifically round the EPC core domains
Good understanding of VNF & CNF cloud architectures
Good understanding of Clould deployments and onboarding of Data Core VNFS
Good understanding of VMware Tanzu, Openshift & Kubernetes implementations
Good working knowledge of key control and user plane protocols including ,SIP, GTP, Radius, Diameter, TCP and HTTP
Working knowledge of IP
Good working knowledge of MVNO solutions across mobile
Deployment of key network systems through the full delivery lifecycle from initial design to full operational handover.
Good practical skills in troubleshooting and fault
Analytical capabilities and business
