Overview:
Position:SEN Teaching Assistant
Salary: Actual salary £21,709.61 - £22,388.59 dependent on experience
Location: Quidenham, Norwich,
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time only - Monday - Friday - 8.30am - 4.30pm (5pm on Thursday, extra half hour taken off on another day)
Start Date: Immediate
About the School:
Due to our continued expansion, were currently looking for Teaching Assistants to join our school. You will be working alongside the teacher and therapy teams to create an enabling environment and supporting students to actively engage with their social and academic environment.
We provide day placements for students aged 11 to 16 years primarily with communication and interaction difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning.
With small classes, a maximum of 10 students and a minimum of 3 staff per class you can focus on the needs of each student. There is a full clinical team onsite to always support and you will have the support of an experienced and stable SLT.

Job Summary:
As a Teaching Assistant, your main role will be to support pupils in their learning and overall well-being, ensuring each child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. You will:
- Assist teachers with the day-to-day management of the classroom
- Work alongside the class team to provide meaningful educational experiences for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and moderate to severe learning difficulties
- Help manage positive behaviour strategies, tailored to each child's needs
- Promote the safety and well-being of students, in line with the school's safeguarding policies
Responsibilities and Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Good standard of English, Maths, and communication skills
Desirable Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
- Experience managing challenging behaviour
- Experience in an educational setting or inclusive environment is advantageous
Skills:
- Commitment to putting the child first and treating each pupil as an individual
- Positive, creative approach to meeting student needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff and professionals
- Good numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills
