Senior Structural Design Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Stafford!

This is an exciting opportunity to work with structural steelwork and flexible building materials for a company at the forefront of the industry. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative, bespoke solutions across a global market.

This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!

What youll be doing

• Preparing structural calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings (e.g., beam deflections, wind/snow loadings, etc)
• Producing Temporary Works Designs and checks
• Leading or assisting on projects, including new product development and component testing
• Providing input into risk assessments and ensuring technical and financial excellence
• Preparing client proposals and attending occasional site meetings
• Supporting product standardisation and work-winning teams by assessing suitability for client environments

Hours

Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm & Friday 7:30am-3:30pm

Pay

£50,000 - £58,500 per annum (depending on experience) + Bonuses!

Skills/Experience Required

Essential

• UK driving licence
• Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Structural Engineering
• Experience in the construction industry
• Proven knowledge of structural steel and loading calculations
• Familiarity with BS Standards and Eurocodes
• Proficiency in structural design software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Solution-oriented and proactive approach to problem-solving
• Team player who thrives in a multi-disciplinary environment

Desirable:

• Chartered status
• Experience with wind loading calculations
