General Manager

Part of a successful FTSE-listed global manufacturing group, this local £10m t/o business unit is a tier 1 supplier of precision engineered products to a range of OEMs across industrial sector markets. The company, which is well established, has advanced manufacturing capability and is primed for further growth in new and existing markets. We are now seeking a Managing Director/General Manager to lead the business in the next phase of its development.

Reporting to a Divisional CEO, this role will have full P&L responsibility for the ongoing success of this autonomous business unit. The emphasis of the role will be on driving top line growth, accessing opportunities (locally and internationally) both directly and through collaboration across the wider group, whilst optimising supply chain/operations performance via a team of circa 150 people.

Ideal candidates will have proven credentials as an MD/GM/Site Director or Operations Director with a manufacturing business supplying engineered products, preferably tier 1 or tier 2. Whilst aerospace experience is desirable, candidates supplying precision engineered parts to other sectors – e.g. automotive, defence, rail, off-highway, capital equipment, nuclear etc. – are also of interest. Although full prior P&Lexperience is highly desirable, we are happy to consider candidates with the right strategic leadership capability and commercial acumen seeking their first GM role.
