Job Description
Brook Street is recruiting for Assistant Company Accountant for our client in Hyde, Manchester, on a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC). This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a growing finance team while gaining hands-on experience in a varied and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the finance department with key accounting functions, with potential for further opportunities beyond the contract.
Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 - 5
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitor and ensure all finance tasks are completed within deadlines.
Assist with monthly accounting tasks, including reviewing expenditure notes and processing prepayments or accruals.
Close sales and purchase ledgers monthly and maintain accuracy of aged debtor, creditor, and PO prepayment reports.
Revalue currency accounts and liaise with department heads to obtain supplier payment approvals.
Process supplier payments via online banking (BACS, currency, statutory).
Ensure adherence to office policies and provide cover for Finance Assistants as needed.
Essential Criteria:
Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge.
AAT Level 4 or equivalently qualified
Accurate, organised, and able to meet deadlines.
Experience of working in a similar role
