Pod Talent is excited to be supporting a leading global medical solutions company in recruiting for a UK Customs and Trade Compliance Manager. You’ll be working with global peers and leaders, providing essential guidance and support on customs and trade compliance across key markets in the UK, Netherlands, and the US. Key Responsibilities for the position of Trade Compliance Manager -
- Lead the development and execution of a standardised global trade compliance program, focusing on the UK and Europe.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, supporting the smooth and efficient movement of products globally.
- Manage and support the Inward Process Relief program, ensuring accurate reconciliation and compliance.
- Conduct audits and manage the AEO certification process, analysing and resolving compliance issues.
- Assign and review global Harmonised Tariff Codes (HTS) and manage SAP master data.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including trade automation and process optimisation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, such as customs brokers and government agencies, to maintain high compliance standards.
Key Experience Required for the position of Trade Compliance Manager -
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in international trade compliance, with expertise in both import and export regulations.
- Strong knowledge of HTS classification, particularly in medical devices, within Europe and the US.
- Proven experience in managing global customs programs and working with diverse, multinational teams.
- Direct experience with Inward Processing Relief (IPR) is essential.
- Ability to analyse complex problems, develop actionable strategies, and implement them effectively.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications, with strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with trade automation systems like Thomson Reuters OneSource is a plus.
- Experience in healthcare (medical device) industry, or another highly regulated industry desirable but not required.
