We are looking for a dynamic experienced Principal Applications Operations Engineer to join our team at DHCW. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the instigation, management, and operation of services within a specific application area at Digital Health and Care Wales.
The role will involve strategic planning and overseeing a team of senior product specialists, development professionals, and support staff to ensure the smooth delivery of projects and services.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the delivery/ performance of DHCW services in a specific application area.
*
Oversee management and development of senior product specialists, development teams, support staff within the application area.
*
Identify and implement service improvements and support change initiatives to enhance service delivery.
*
Act as an enabler of change, driving innovation and transformation in digital healthcare services.
*
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with broader NHS systems and initiatives.

To be successfull in this role you will need:
* Master’s degree in an associated professional field (or equivalent qualification / experience).
* Practical experience, working at this level, across the range of work procedures and practices.
* Significant experience as a Senior Manager within software development and information systems services, with a track record of successfully managing and delivering highly complex software projects.
* Substantial experience of leading a team of specialists, working with relational databases and a specific application toolset.
* Proficiency in methods and techniques for the assessment and management of business risk including safety-related risk.
* Familiarity with methods and techniques associated with planning and monitoring progress of projects.
* Familiarity with the effective and efficient routine deployment of resources, (but also including reassessment and reallocation in a dynamic multi-project environment), to achieve optimum results.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
