Job Description
We are working with a cutting-edge technology company in the sustainable materials sector, focused on transformative processes that aim to significantly reduce carbon emissions in the construction industry. This fast-growing business is expanding its team to drive the development of innovative materials and processing techniques.
As a Process Engineer, you’ll play a key role in helping scale and optimise the company’s groundbreaking methods. You’ll collaborate with R&D, Operations, and Safety teams to design and conduct experiments, troubleshoot technical challenges, and drive continuous improvement in production. You’ll also liaise with external suppliers and consultants to support process development and access valuable technical resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Process R&D
Partner with R&D to assess new materials and their potential for integration into production.
Develop and execute trials to fine-tune parameters for essential process steps.
Define, recommend, and manage trials based on prior research, with a focus on accurate data collection and analysis.
Serve as a technical contact with external consultants and suppliers, supporting project teams across R&D and Operations.
Safety
Apply rigorous safety principles in all activities, ensuring a commitment to zero harm.
Identify risks in the work environment and implement measures to mitigate them.
Operations
Create and update lab procedures that support high process efficiency and product quality.
Establish and manage QA/QC standards.
Provide support to operations by identifying and implementing improvements to optimise plant performance.
Process Design
Assist in designing process flowsheets, energy balancing, and related process documentation.
Contribute to studies that inform process trade-offs and operational strategies.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have a background in mineral or powder processing, R&D, or a relevant industrial setting. Experience with process development, statistical analysis, and familiarity with simulation software are advantageous. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications:
Background in powder processing of building or construction materials.
Proficiency in using MS Office and statistical or simulation software.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external experts.
