About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Roadworks Surfacing Contracts Manager to oversee road surfacing projects in Somerset on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing contracts from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for someone with a background in roadworks and surfacing who is skilled in project management and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all phases of road surfacing projects, ensuring efficient planning, scheduling, and execution.
Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and clear communication across projects.
Monitor site operations to uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Oversee budgeting and scheduling, making adjustments as necessary to keep projects on track.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and identify any necessary corrective actions.
Prepare project documentation and reports to provide updates on progress, challenges, and completed work.Requirements:
Proven experience in contracts management within roadworks, surfacing, or civil engineering.
Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements related to roadworks and construction.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple contracts.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to make timely adjustments to meet project demands.
